Well managed and preserved research data is the cornerstone of reproducible research.

Let's practice the FAIR data principles together. May all research data be findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable!

Open and Free

The data repository is built on top of the open source CKAN package. It has been customized and extended to support research data management. The service is open to all researchers. Registration is free!
More

Flexible

All kinds of data can be deposited. Datasets can be searched by spatiotemporal ranges, data types, keywords, and other conditions. The datasets are indexed by Google Dataset Search.

More

Interoperable

Resource catalogs and data endpoints are supported by Web APIs. APIs to access structured data (e.g. CSV and Excel files) are available too. Programmable data access and analytics can be implemented.

FAQ

The term depositar is from the Portuguese/Spanish verb for "to deposit". The term depositario is a noun for depository or repository. This service has a Taiwanese Mandarin name 研究資料寄存所 meaning "research data depository".

In addition to data preservation, at the depositar registered users can create projects to collaboratively manage research data. All datasets can be searched by their spatiotemporal ranges, data types, keywords, and other conditions. Dataset catalogs are published as linked data and indexed by Google Dataset Search.

Before creating a dataset and starting to upload data, you need to first prepare the necessary metadata for the dataset such as the dataset's name, description, license, creator, contact information, among others.
You can deposit as many datasets as you like. Currently there is no limitation on the number of files in a single dataset. However, the size of a single file must not exceed 1 GB. If you would need to deposit larger files, please contact us.
Your data will be kept as long as the depositar is in service. The depositar has been funded by the Institute of Information Science and the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation, Academia Sinica. It is supported in part by a grant from the National Science and Technology Council of Taiwan.
